Site Location: 2530 Stony Creek Rd. Lansdale, PA Client: Sunny Brook Estates HOA Skills: Project & Construction Management, Construction Skills, Grading, Footings, Play Equipment Installation Designer: CMC Engineering Project Team: Holly Days Nursery, Lancaster County Backyard Project Description:The Sunny Brook Park and Playground project was an awarded bid to install playground equipment, landscape and a pavilion structure with stone veneer pillars. Re-grading and demolition of the existing site was also required. The playground was an old and deteriorating play area for the kids of the neighborhood and due to the central location and ease of access for the community, the HOA put money into remodeling the park towards a natural play design concept. Some of the main features of the design include large berms making site lines and play experiences vastly unique as well as a boulder tunnel which kids can crawl and play through. Other features include a tri-slide structure, four bay swing-set, steppers for climbing and sand diggers in the sites large boulder edged sandbox. Lastly, the site features a custom built play fort which sites into grade allowing for kids to play and lookout over the site. My role in the project was to manage the project through dealing with the various parties involved and ensuring the project was constructed as per plan and to owner and architect specifications. I assisted in laying out the walkways, site elements, play equipment and plant material. Aside from doing some construction work as well, I was involved in ordering and coordinating deliveries and managing subcontractors such as electricians and pavilion builders.
